Synopsis
During the seventies in Barranquilla carnival times, Joe is pure gozadera. He sings in the La Protesta orchestra and is engaged to marry Adela, his teenage sweetheart, but he meets Jackieline Ramón, the daughter of a music businessman from Atlántico, owner of the record label 'Discos Caribe'.
The crush between the two is immediate and they live two days of passion in the middle of the festivities; however Jackeline, for fear of being valued for what she has and not for what she is hers, does not tell Joe who her father is. However, Jackeline discovers in Joe the talent he has as a musician and promises to help him fulfill his dreams; What she doesn't imagine is that Joe later finds out where he came from, because Jackeline's father, Aníbal Ramón, is looking for a singer to put together an orchestra and is interested in him.
Everything seems to be fine, except for Francisco, Aníbal's right-hand man and Jackeline's eternal lover, who, driven by jealousy, makes Arroyo sign a contract in which he is enslaved for life, leaving, incidentally, outside from the business to the label 'Discos Caribe'. Fruko, director of Fruko & his Tesos, wanting Joe to work with him, realizes that the signed contract is detrimental and realizing the situation, Joe thinks that Jackeline is involved.
At the same time, Aníbal discovers Francisco's intentions and becomes so upset that it affects his health, at which time Joe and Fruko arrive to discuss the issue, unaware that Aníbal is beginning to suffer from a heart attack that takes him to the hospital. death. Jackeline and his aunt Cecilia, judging by what they see, blame Arroyo and Fruko for what happened, leaving Francisco as the savior and protector of the Ramón family.
Since then, Jackeline and Joe have declared war on each other. He marries Adela and goes with Fruko to Medellín to work at 'Discos Fuentes', despite the fact that he has to pay a default clause to undo the contract. Some time later, when he has paid off the debt and believes that everything will improve, he comes to work at the record company, Francisco in the company of Jacqueline, who will be the company's image consultant. When they meet Jackeline again, they spark but cannot help but fall in love. Jacqueline driven by the remorse of getting involved with a married man, she decides to formalize a relationship with Francisco, which motivates Joe to go to Barranquilla to set up his Orchestra "La Verdad".
