Synopsis

La Madre, masterfully interpreted by Margarita Rosa de Francisco, is the story of a woman, mother of five children, who works as a waitress in a hotel and who, in her attempt to raise her children completely alone, after the abandonment of her husband He sacrifices his life, his time and his heart. She would seem resigned to solitude until a light appears in her path. A man who, unlike her husband, admires her and recognizes all the sacrifice and love that she has given her.

But she, much more used to giving than receiving, interposes the difficult task of keeping her children on the path of "good" to her own happiness. But how does a woman with five children think of love when she has to face situations like her eldest daughter, attractive and ambitious, willing to do anything to achieve the glitz of upper-class life, including losing her dignity and selling her body? Is this offset by a younger daughter full of convictions who will try at all costs to get ahead, and be like her mother, a good woman, but who has had the bad luck of being the woman with whom a gangster falls in love? And the other son, also willing to go very far no matter what the cost, even if he turns his mother into the mother of a murderer? And the least that she has understood that there are only two ways in a country like this to get out of poverty: crime and sport. He is willing to go very far, as a basketball player. It is always better to be Michael Jordan than traqueto. It's harder, but it's better.

And what about the youngest who is torn between following his athlete's brother and the facilitator? Both heroes. Both full of dreams. It is not easy to think about love, either, when a woman like her looks at Andrés, father of two children, a widower and in need, but love will have to triumph. They will have to understand that in their circumstances love is company, solidarity, reaching tomorrow together. Meanwhile, will she constantly wonder what she did wrong for her children to choose her path so badly? What did you do well to make others insist on difficulty and principle? What's wrong with her giving herself another chance at life and finally finding love, even though her husband is asking for another chance, just as she found hers? In addition, there are friends, co-workers, all mothers, all full of doubts, loneliness and needs, and the unconditional friend that one of them would seem.
