Synopsis

Las Santisimas is the story of Helena and her group of close friends: Ana, Candelaria, Irene and Francisca; five women close to forty who have very diverse life experiences, but in common the search for themselves and the long-awaited happiness. They call themselves the "Santísimas", since they all have names of saints or martyrs.

At the age of twenty, Helena had Joaquín, her son, who is the reason for her existence, the motivation for her professional development and the axis of all her affections. When she finally feels that she has already done much of her homework with him and she is willing to give herself the chance to love her with Carlos, he passes away on their wedding night, leaving her absolutely devastated. But her life friends will come to surround her and will be accomplices and witnesses of what will be her new possibility in love: her relationship with Federico, a friend from Carlos's past who returns to the country after twenty years living abroad, and who little by little will win her heart. Helena's friends will have to solve their own issues in turn: Ana, an independent and executive woman, whose professional achievements do not match her emotional achievements, and who will get involved in a relationship with an unexpected minor man who, to make matters worse, is the son of her best friend Helena. Candelaria, the most conventional “santísima”, in the role of her dedicated wife and mother, has endured the tyranny and mistreatment of Juan, her husband, who finally leaves her and allows her to begin an interesting process of searching for herself. Irene, the spoiled girl conditioned by her aristocratic birth, who is satisfied by nothing and nothing and who thinks she is doomed to follow the destiny assigned to her by her family; To her surprise, a man who is not of her social status will make her discover that love, not bank balances, is what decides the path of her heart. Francisca, the youngest of the friends, who in her obsessive search to find a husband, will have to admit the huge mistake of trying to reproduce the perfect family she lost when she was young, demanding and dreaming of requirements that life does not grant, if love does not exist. Las Santísimas is also the story of Carmen, a humble and hard-working woman, who will have to face a hostile world to carry out her life project, which is none other than giving her seven-year-old son, Andrés, a dignified future.

She is a very attractive, elegant and sophisticated woman. She still hasn't met anyone with whom she can plan a future, but she hopes to one day find a man who will love her and be with her for the rest of her life. Ana becomes obsessed with her work as an official in the National Planning Department. She has decided to look for a son like her. She will end up getting romantically involved with Joaquín, a younger man, son of Helena, her best friend. She will be the commercial and administrative manager of the "Las Santisimas" spa.

Candelaria Penagos

At forty years old, Candelaria still believes that there is a prince charming that she is going to meet. Her mother, Berenice, is directly responsible for her abandoning Ricardo, the great love of her life. To her misfortune, Juan Lizcano appeared, a fake who seduced her and with whom she ended up marrying and having her only daughter, Silvia; Her unsatisfactory life leads her to find refuge in yoga and Tibetan Buddhism. Likewise, a love from the past will reappear to awaken in her the feelings that she believed she had forgotten about.

Francisca Ramírez

Francisca is characterized by her insecurities. Her mother taught her to be a submissive woman devoted to housework. Francisca studied industrial design and then took a culinary course. Desperate to find a husband, she has decided to give anyone a chance, but she runs them all out. She owns her own decoration business specializing in the design of children's rooms. Due to her delusion to get a husband, she will be in charge of designing and promoting the website of the spa "Las Santísimas".

Irene Escobar

She is the content director of a major publisher where she has worked for years and has a rather distant relationship with the employees. She has driven the suitors away from her, due to her dissatisfaction and obsession with changing them. She has a mother with whom she has a difficult and exclusively telephone relationship. Irene becomes involved in a clandestine affair with Steven, the cook at the spa that she is a member of with her friends. He, besides being a few years younger, does not belong to her class which leads her to hide the romance from her as much as she can.

Federico Díaz

He is an attractive and renowned chronicler, he has lived in more than 20 countries, so he considers himself a citizen of the world. He arrives in Colombia following a story that he is investigating for a very important medium in Europe. Upon arriving at "Las Santisimas", Federico changes radically when he falls in love with Helena, who will make him rethink his way of life. Federico discovers the existence of Martina, his daughter, which turns his life upside down.

Joaquín Medina

He is the only son of Helena. He studies business administration and still lives with his mother. He is doing well at university and loves to flirt with Helena's friends, so he begins a passionate romance with Ana. He gets along perfectly with her, the only problem is that he becomes lazy and lazy, because Ana is He takes care of everything. Helena doesn't understand the cause of her son's disobedience, so she puts him to work at the spa to see if he can go back to being the responsible young man he's always been.

Enriqueta Díaz

Interpreted by: Helena Mallarino

Former wife of Carlos Vidal. Thanks to Carlos, Enriqueta has never done anything in her life. It was precisely her fear of losing her status as a maintained woman that affected her the most when she separated from Carlos. She is a manipulator, but deep down she feels pain and anger when she realizes that Carlos knew her true love with Helena. Her unhappiness made her a hard and resentful woman. Carlos's death triggers her perverse sense of opportunity and she decides to look for Helena to charge her for having married him, an end for which she uses her two children, Darío and Manuel.

Juan Lizcano

Soledad was born in the midst of adversity. Her visual impairment accidentally caused the death of her older brother and the hatred of a mother who keeps a secret. Life gave her a gift: she sings with the perfection of the world's great singers.
